Glad to have found the forum. I had previously owned and rode motorcycles in my early years, all Yamaha's, they were the dealer in town. 175, 360 enduros, then a 650 street special. went from Pennsylvania to Colorado, Wyoming, N & S Dakota, and all points in between, as well as up to Boston and back. Then got married and had children, so the toys (including my corvette) had to go. Now 30 years later the kids are grown and gone, and it's time to get back to a motorcycle. I tried to like the Harley Davidsons, I really, really tried, but found them too heavy and bulky for my age at 62. So, after crossing the Harley bridge I was interested in a Bonneville T100, but while looking at Triumphs found the America LT. I loved it from the first time I saw it. Found a dealer within 2 hours ride and sat on it, and that was it. It fit, was easy to get off the stand, had good balance, and was had most of what I was looking for in a ride. The 865 engine is perfect. The Harley 1600's are just too much bike. This America will cruise all day at 70 with no issues. I don't need any more.
I look forward to reading all the information and discussions on the forums.
