I went out and bought myself a new summer riding jacket today. I've had my eye on it for about a month now. I was considering another Triumph jacket, the Retro Rocket, but went back to the first one that I wanted, the Balham.

I'm over my racer boy stage... I think. I've done the hump back and racing leathers. Need something that looks good and provides protection at the same time. I've never been one for flashy colours, or dressing up like a power ranger.. : :y22:

It's very comfortable and has oodles of pockets. Heavy duty zips on the front and wrists. It has some too on the lower sides, by the hips. I guess that's for when I actually have my breakfast and over eat as usual.
It also zips onto some pants, haven't got them yet as TTC doesn't have leather type pants in stock and I have no clue as to what size I would need to order. I might go with some other brand pants - will make my mind up next month.

Quality seems great. All double stitched and soft leather, with elbow and shoulder Knox(tm) protectors.

Might give it a test run this weekend as the weather has done an about flip as it's getting pretty hot again.

Very happy with my purchase. :y115:

no probs.

it was on special for R2200.00

considering I paid R2500.00 for a Berik, which has discolored and gone shiney in places. Grrrr.
I reckon great value for money, not sure on the original price though dave. soz.

I started reading your post and thought you had bought the top one.
I was stretching my brain thinking of something to say which wouldnt be deleted by the boss, then I scrolled down.
Much better, good lookin jacket.

Good looking jacket! Leather is just way too hot in the Florida summers, even vented leather. If you buy a pair of riding pants other than Triumph, chances are the zippers in the jacket and pants will not match up. Triumph has them installed backwards from most manufactures. You can have the zipper reversed and it works great.

thanks for that info Carl, I haven't checked it against my current set of pants yet.
I have Nexo pants and they are 180 degs out compared to Berik and the likes. Perhaps they might work with the new jacket. I will let you guys know.
