Just added DISH satellite internet and a wifi system at my house. It cured my lack of cell phone reception and the internet speed isn't too bad. Its not cable, but for someone in the boondocks, its great.
However, I have a new laptop with Windows 8 and a touch screen and I absolutely hate both. Its worse than my Galaxy 4 smart phone in terms of never knowing what it will do next. I was entering a sales listing on ebay last weekend and all of a sudden everything on my screen went to microscopic size- and I mean a whole page was less than 1/4" by 1/4" square; and it wasn't just ebay, but everything on the internet, including my browser. The main problem was that its very hard to diagnose and fix problems when a whole page is smaller than your mouse pointer.
And on Windows 8, instead of a menu, I have page after page of photos and images and I have no idea what most of them mean. Why can't they use words? Programs that I have used forever on Windows now cannot be found. Maybe I need to try every image and keep a cheat sheet telling me what it does, but then I also have the problem of exiting these image programs and to date cannot get out of them without invoking the Task Manager.
I think Microsoft is trying to make software for illiterates with nothing but photos and images, and no words at all.
Boy I wish we could go back to small cell phones that actually fit into your pocket like the Motorola Razr and always had a good signal, and back to Windows 3.1.
