New fone

Okay I mentioned it somewhere in another post, but I traded up on my Samsung D900 and got an HTC S710 cell fone.

Big mistake!

First off, reception is pathetic.
In Magalies, a guy with a lucky_packet fone has got full signal. I have none - not even one bar. Hmmm

Battery life - One night and one work day - not quite 24hrs worth. All apps were closed btw.

Camera - it's crap. Really crap. Plus when you hold the fone, your finger goes all over the lens, getting yuck stuck in there much better.

Build quality - it's crap, feels like it's gonna break into two pieces with the slide out keyboard.
Closing apps is a pain in the backside, you have to run a task manager to kill them properly.

Operating system - Windows mobile. "you have inserted a SIM card, you need to reboot" Aaaargh. 'nuff said.

Can't get most of my Java apps to work on this POS. Windows mobile apps are touch 'n go aswell.

No 3G, only GPRS, not even EDGE available, plus I have to stand in-line-of-sight to get my emails. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Call quality - pathetic - if you can hear a pin drop, then this fone is for you. Got forbid a swallow should be chirping in the background.

Vibrate mode was okay, coz sure as hell you can't hear it ringing unless it's on a table.

Anyways... this wasn't going to be a rant, coz I've now got another fone. A Samsung i560 - runs Symbian and has a GPS!! Sweeeeeeeeeet! Never to get lost again... well okay so long as I know where I'm going. lol

Cell phone ?!!! Wow, it's amazing what they allow in there nowadays. So, what are ya in for?

All I want in cell phone is to be able make and receive calls. I do not want to text message, take photos, read email, cook dinner, and all that stuff with a cell phone. I have two good cameras to take picture with and a computer to send and read email with. Guess I'm just a technologically challenged old fart!

I also just sue my one as a phone to talk on. I upgraded my one to some Nokia model they offered me and this one is so bad I hate having to talk on the thing.

I also just upgraded from D900 to Samsung i780. It has ALL the bells and whistles and they all work. Samsung products are cool. :y115:

I've got a Nokia Music Express. Took me forever to work out how to download the music and I still have no idea how the flippin blue tooth headphones are supposed to work. I agree (yet again) with Carl - cells are good for making and receiving calls. SMSing is just stupid - at my age you can't find the letters :y115:
