Thanks for all the welcomes. I just picked up these two numbers matching basketcases last week. Here is an "as found" picture. I have just returned to Canada after a 40 year vacation in Ft Lauderdale.

I have a basket case like yours with unmatching numbers. My matching numbers basket case was rebuilt by Grand Paul.

For me I don't have a place to do a build like this or the tools any more so it's just out of the question, the time is also an issue

BC is spot on. It takes time - and money. But it is rewarding.

Ps. Never build your own airplane though......trust me on this one.

I helped rebuild a Stearman from the ground up. I love that old airplane.
