Need Help With Part !

I need help. I was washing my bike and this small piece came off. I have no idea where it goes. I’m sure it’s probably not essential but my OCD will drive me nuts. Does anyone know where this attaches to. Thank you.

You have my sympathy. No idea what it is but I still have a spring found under one of my bikes 12 years ago. I still have the bike and most likely the spring has nothing to do with the bike, but I'm still looking!

That doesn't look like a Triumph bike part to me ? ... it could be off your after market panniers and brackets somewhere , but it does not look Triumph to me !
