Something to do while coming long dark winter evenings. Phantom black color was/is bit boring in my eyes. I wanted slightly bit more ''color'' to my bike (the plastic parts are also black). But just a bit as the other glossy options ... white, blue, yellow-green etc. looked too ''bright''. Who knows, perhaps I will change those again back after 2 - 3 years ...

I wonder how easily those kind of tank stickers can be removed? The best way to do that? Just as I would like to put there a pad (like in the las photo)

Sticker removal is easy. Heat them up with a hair dry and peel off.

There’s also citrus based glue removers that might easily remove the stickers.
A yellow tiger with black stripes might look good, you already have the black.

Stickers removed ... I used hot air gun here. Very carefully. Stickers were actually easy to take off but they left some gluid on tank. To get that away (without harming the paint surface) needed much more time and effort.
It already looks pretty good now, but there are still two small spots/marks of gluid (which you can see if looking tank via correct angle and right lights). I might try to work with those still another day.

I will put that pad to tank at winter time (as the tank is on the bike. Easier to decide how high I want it.

Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) usually works. I have a tiny bottle, has lasted years.
But, why on earth are Triumph sticking sticky things on tanks?

That great shape second hand tank came from USA. I have not seen similar stickers here in Europe. Perhaps US-law systems forced Triumph to put those stickers?

I was wondering about adding some subtle tiger stripes to the painted tank side panels where the Tiger XRX decal is placed. Maybe a similar shape to the steamer stripes but on a smaller scale.

Sorry. You misunderstood me. There was no pad on that tank. Just those 3 stickers (which I have now removed).

Opposite I'm planning to put one pad on that tank before the next year riding season (= winter time, as I have first installed the tank to my bike).

I have already taken those black plastic covers away few times, and even removing whole tank does not look too difficult (that video). But my new tank (matte green) is empty of parts ... no fuel pump inside etc. So I should remove those parts from my original tank and then install them to new tank. Is that a big job? Do all those parts come out in one package or are there several parts I will need to remove?
