Hi there. Steve here from Derbyshire in the UK.
I've owned bikes since 1975 . My 1st bike was a bsa bantam used as a field bike whe I was 14yrs. The rest have all been jap bikes up till recently as I've just bought a 1968 triumph tiger t100ss 500cc which is all so new to me.( someone placed the gear selector where the back break should be) I guess I will have to get used to it.
Also had to order a new set of spanners as none of mine will fit.
Anyway ,I love the bike. Just waiting for some better weather to get out on the road.
Will no doubt be posting a few questions.
Cheers
Steve

Welcome to TT from sunny North Texas. When the US Congress mandated motorcycle configuration in the 1970's Euro and Jap bikes all went to brakes on the right side and clutch/gear shifting on the left. Before that it's a crap shoot for setup.

Hello and welcome to TT from the east coast of Canada BBEER
The rear brake pedal on the left and the gear selector on the right side. That's the way they came from the factory back then and is correct.
I have to be aware of that when I switch between my modern Japanese bikes and my vintage British bikes.
Same thing when I ride my modern Triumph Bonneville.
As Atomsplitter said, in the 70's they swapped things over.
