Hi Riff and welcome to the forum. Great looking bike. When ever I see one of these it brings back great memories of my 650 Bonnie I had in the 70’s. I was always on the lookout for the 750 but never managed to find one back then.

Beautiful bike. Great restoration job. I am a nut about vintage Brit iron in general and Triumphs in particular. I am also very partial to blue Triumphs. Did you restore this as a concours bike or a show bike/rider? I have a '68 TR6R restoration under way as a show bike/rider.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi

well when i got the bike it was dirty and needed alot of T.L.C and a few new parts.
And the model was what i was looking for at the time..,left side gear shift and disk brake at rear and i believe better made gear box 5 speed

The timing and fuel mix was all over the place ,went threw what most go threw with probs with the older bikes but now it go,s well and a joy to ride.

So just a few more things to replace and its done,,but im in no hurry.

Thanks for the welcome and ill try to contribute what i can in the future here

G'day Riff,

Welcome to the forum. You should be able to get some great info and assistance here re your 76 Trumpy! Nice looking machine. I used to have a 57 Thunderbird when I was a tin lid! I restored it from ground up then sold it when I emigrated to Australia from the UK in 77. What an idiot I was. Hindsight eh!

Looking forward to reading your future posts,

Ride safe,
Lee (pooksta)

Hi lee yeah i know what ya meen.....Along time ago i had a good chance to buy a triumph hurricane was going cheep in a car yard..was used as a trade in i think..from memory i think it was under a grand at the time...regetfull not getting it
I rode back in the 70.s and early 80.s big powerfull jap bikes but i always wanted a classic brit bike as a project..i could not get a cheep enough vincent hrd or a hurricane my 3rd fav is a triumph bonnie,,

I would enjoy a trip to england to look into the bike shops there as i think they would have some classics there u would not see here exept in shows ect.

The last bike show here in brisbane was a bit of a dissapointment with not alot of classics being there and there is no real pre 80,s or eny type of brit bike clubs here in se queensland that i have seen where vic sa even the act has a big brit bike clubs.

Perhaps u mite no of eny..i do read evey month just bike it has alot of info in the back but all to do with other states.

And yeah this forum has some good stuff to read...

G'day Riff,

Didn't take you for an Aussie, sorry mate. Whereabouts in Queensland are you? Susie and I are heading up to Coffs Harbour next May for the Ulysses Club Annual General Meeting. Should be a good meet with over 6500 bikers expected. We are having a trade display there for our sheepskin seat cover business. Maybe you could drop in too and say Hi! Beers always cold as they say.

To those who don't know what the Ulysses Club is, it's a club for motorcyclists over the age of 50 but you can join at 40 as a Junior. I joined at 45 coz I liked the idea of being called a Junior, ha ha.

The club started in Australia 22 yrs ago and has now become international with branches in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and recently Sweden and Norway. It's a brilliant concept and has heaps of good friendship and also benefits such as HUGE buying power with over 42,000 in Oz alone. If ever your off on a trip either in the car or the bike, there's always a branch not too far away and if your in trouble or need help, it's a good sorce. For info, you can log onto www.ulyssesclub.org and find your local or nearest branch.

Safe riding,
Lee (pooksta)

Yeah aussie all the way...and coff,s is a nice place..im 5 and a half hours north of there
