Just got this in and couldn't wait to get it mounted. Simply called "Handlebar Bag" from MotoPockets. Great little piece of kit.

Design is very straight forward. They come in either horizontal or vertical attachment formats. Most Triumphs by far will utilize the horizontal format as seen in the attached photos. I've included a pics of both the Speed Twin and the Speedmaster for reference. Mounting is super easy via velcro straps. Access opening is lengthwise and secured witth dual zippers that interlock with a provision for a small padlock, although a determined thief can just undo the velcro straps and take the whole bag. The straps wrap around the handlebars 1.5 times so its a solid attachment. Span between the straps is 10"/25.4cm. As you can see they accomodate both the Speed Twin and Speedmaster quite handsomely so they're very Triumph-friendly. Unfortunately it will likely conceal any tank-mounted gauges like you see here on the Speedmaster, but I can live with that.

Capacity is 1 liter. Easily holds a phone, rolled up ball cap, pack of jerky or whatever, multitool, Surefire light, shop rag. When needed I'll occasionally stow "a little friend" in there as well(compliments of Carl Walther) and there's no issue there. A rolled up t-shirt takes up about 2/3rds capacity. Manufacturer is a US company, they're American made, and quality is high. They only come in black because that's the coolest color there is. Website states they're water-resistant but I would recommend further securing sensitive items in ZipLoc bags. In fact I'm just going to keep a couple in mine for when the time calls.

Like I said they're simply lashed to your handlbars so they're not locked on in any way. I would just keep your bike within eye-shot when one of these things is attached if you're tooling around the city. Somebody walking up and removing it would look pretty suspicious and velcro would sound-off, but people in urban areas are often too absorbed into what they're doing to stop and consider some dodgy character might be tearing this thing off someone's ride illegally. Most people won't even look up from their phones. If you're going to walk away for any extended period just remove valuables like a phone, knife, wallet… or Walther. Once it's on it's very low key and doesn't really attract attention to itself, esp if your bike is black as you can see in the Speed Twin pic.

It will sit right on your tank and so far it hasn't interfered with steering whatsoever, but when you pack for a ride it I'd swing the forks to full range of motion before heading off just to make sure. I don't know if I'm going to keep it mounted long term or on a ride by ride basis but if it stays on there for any length of time I'm going to get an extra tank protector from Techspec, cut it to form, and install it appropriately to the front of the tank so the friction of the bag resting on the tank doesnt wear the paint job(my current tank pads are TechSpec). I'm entertaining possibly having a MOLLE strip sewn along the front too for external storage of various small items, or maybe a couple rows on either end.

Overall I give this bag a solid thumbs-up. Perfect for light storage of various day-to-day glovebox type items that need quick, convenient access during routine rides around town. They're $60USD from MotoPockets which isn't too-too bad. I'll stress that they are very well made.

My Triumphs are across town in my warehouse right now but I'll put up some additional pics over the next few days for anyone interested.

Cheers- DPsn.

The only fault I can give this thing now that I’ve ridden around with it a bit is that they should’ve place a small loop of 1/2” wide strap webbing on at least one end of the zipper opening, if not both, for grabbing with one hand while your other works the zipper itself. You could also hang a small snaplink off that for securing some small items externally, like a couple keys or little keyring bottle opener or something.

More pics for sh-ts and gigs…
