My '22 T120 picked up some nails in the back tire and the OEM Pirelli is backordered till October. The shop can get the Avon's in next week so I guess I'll put that on the back I see so many replace the Phantoms with those anyway. What do you think about leaving the Pirelli on the front and the Avon on the rear? I've only got about 1200 miles on the tires.

OEM tires are awful. My Moto Guzzi V7lll came with Pirellis also but a different variety. I don't remember which, I would have to go out to the shop to look, but they are worse than those on my T120. I've liked the Avons I have owned in the past and will probably go to those when I change tires.

My rear tire, Pirelli is at the wear bars, just short of 5,000 miles. I just got an Avon Storm, I haven't put it on yet. I decided to change the front as well. It should be here today. I ordered them from America Moto Tires. Fantastic prices and extremely fast shipping. I couldn't find these tires at any of the popular companies but AMT had them in stock.

Update: I have installed and ridden on the Avon's for just under 300 miles. Major improvement in handling. I rode the bike with a Avon on the rear and OEM on the front and then with both Avons on. All I can say is get rid of the OEMs ASAP no matter how much tread is left. Compared to the Avons they are pure junk.

My first post in this sub-forum, so please bear with me.

So, I just bought a near-pristine 120, and it has Avon Spirit ST tires on it- they say tubeless, but I assume there are tubes in there. I can't ask the PO as he is deceased, so I am on here to ask a few questions-thanks for letting me in. I hate how these tires handle- it's like driving a Mack truck- you have to force it to turn in or lay over. My Harley Panamerica and my Triumph 800 XC will out corner this Bonneville while wearing Mitas E-07 Enduro tires!

On top of it all, I hate how these things look on the bike- this is not a sport touring bike like my ST1300. What tires are recommended, that work well and look like they belong on the bike? Thanks in advance

Too bad about the Pirelli’s. Love those soft plushy Night Dragons.

My Avons do not like tar snakes at all.
