Yes, it is a shame to see a landmark like that go up in flames.
Just yesterday when my buddy and I were motoring down the coast we passed the place where an old landmark once stood next to a beautiful beach.
It had been there since before WWII and also went up in flames a couple of years ago.
It served some of the best hamburgers around.
It can't be rebuilt because of modern zoning laws, pollution laws, etc., since it was right at the edge of the beach.

I hate to see a landmark go up in flames. That is sad. This is the first time I have seen a fire bucket used on a structure. I have seen it plenty of times on brush fires.

If it was just the roof that would be great. I hate seeing places that have been around a long time go away like that. We had a little placek up the twisties near me that has been there since i first rode that road when i was 16 on my honda 160. Every bike i've had since has been past that place a 1000 times. Then we had that big "station fire" as it was called, biggest ever in so cal 2 years ago. And with the fire went that place. It was small but a biker stop since i've been alive. Every time i go by it no it makes me sad. Heres a pic not long after i got my speedy and did a ride with some other bonnie and speedy/america guys. Theres about 10 more bikes in the lower area out of the pic. Now it's just a dirt lot with a foundation and someones trailer.

That's not being too much of a cynic......now a real cynic would ask if Dave started the fire so he could post pics of it...LOL :y2:

Lucky I am around 700 miles away from it BGRIN

If those pics are in order, time-wise, then it looks like the bucket was filled with gasoline!! :y13:

Unfortunately some of the pics would not upload and they don't look like they are in the correct sequence either

Aaah no! Milly's is a great stop! The lake behind it is actually a trout dam so double damn! They would have had to get it under control really fast because Milly's is surrounded by open land - it's winter now so the grass/vegetation is really dry and goes up like a tinderbox. We have real problems with wild fires this end so if it had got out of control, it could have been a serious disaster. Farms etc.........

Will be travelling down that way in the next 2 weeks - will see how bad it is :-(
