This is Memorial Day Weekend in the US. Please take time to remember those who sacrificed their lives in service of their country - and this goes for our allies as well. As we enjoy our festivities, remember those who made it possible for us to enjoy them. "All gave some; some gave all"

It saddens me when the younger generations show so little interest and have no knowledge of the history of the past 100 years and the terrible sacrifices made so they may live free. It's all taken for granted.
But I suppose that's just the way it is; the past is the past and they're busy living their lives now.
Unfortunately, some are still "giving all" in that cesspool called the Middle East.
I hope history will show that the sacrifices being made over there were worth it, but I have grave doubts.
Anyway, pause for a moment and give thanks for those who gave their lives and if you know a vet thank him or her for their service.

Rocky, I just got back from a PGR KIA mission. We also had one in Miami today and another in the panhandle on Wednesday. All were killed in Afghanistan.

I've noticed over the last 5 or so years the numbers of young people attending our ANZAC Day dawn service getting much larger. In fact this year many about 17 to 20 with facial piercings, outrages hair styles etc, all showing great respect. Our fallen will live on.
