This morning a major tornado put its cross hairs on my house but lifted up about a mile before and come over at 65 MPH, talking about dodging the bullet. It set back down and destroyed some trees, blew a tree down on a car (no one hurt) lifted up and preceded NE about 45 miles set down a few times (tree damage) dumping major rain damage in its path, i measured 3 inches on my gauge and its still raining, roads are closed. It is finally loosing rotation and slowing down, it traveled about 100+ miles at about 65 MPH, fortunately no one was hurt and only property was damaged. However another spin up has just been detected around the same area and is taking its place but does seem to be loosing rotation. Its way out of my area now and probably is just rain and wind now. I have 2 chain saws, a generator, just replaced my emergency 45 gallons of gasoline and think i am prepared but i know i am not.

Yes! That thing moved on into the other states east of me and wound up killing some people and doing a lot of damage, also killed one person in La before it got to Ms., our elect was down and i didn't find out just how bad it was until later. These that come in like this last one are wrapped in so much rain that years ago they couldn't be detected like they can be today, back then we just assumed that any heavy rain and wind was a tornado, made for some interesting conversations when i was a young kid.
