Good day,
I recently returned to the Triumph fold after a small detour to the Japanese cruisers after my last tiger was stolen, I love the 1200 XC. Anyways, last couple hundred miles it has been getting an increase in valve noise an chain slap? It has stalled on low idle with clutch pulled in 4 times, and failed to HOT restart a few times (hot restart has been since owning this bike.). I will not be returning to the dealership again, any Ideas of where to start.

Do you know if the recall for the head was performed on your bike?
The stalling could be dirty injectors, fuel system, idle air circuits, weak stepper motor. Easy place to start is running some Seafoam through it for a couple of tanks..
Quite a few people have gotten the dealertool to help scan for codes and can help out a lot with general maintenance.

Seafoam will help remove any moisture from the fuel system as well. Yours is pretty low mileage for the year, so may be some gumming in the fuel system and/or sediment build up. Do you use non ethanol based fuel if there is some available to you?
