Saturday was forecast to be hot and muggy in my flatland area, so I took off for a day in the Ozarks. It turned out to be the same in the mountains, but the roads were nice. Found out the battery on my GPS only lasts about 2 hours - sonext time, I'll just leave it off until I need it.
I chose my route at random and found some really nice roads where there wasn't a 1/4 mile that was straight and level - lots of blind curves and hills. I like it when you never know if the curve is going to tighten up or reverse itself, or if there is a sharp curve just over the next hill. And I love to see those steep slope signs with truck on the triangle ramp and a "S" curve sign underneath.
I saw 2,000 to 3,000 motorcycles and all but mine and one brand new Gold Wing were HDs or HD clones. The HD/HD clone dominance in my area is getting worse. I do see a BMW about once a month, but rarely anything else except on the showroom floor at dealerships (even there all the customer bikes are HDs or HD clones).
Its no wonder Triumph has been pushing the big cruiser.
