Joined triumphtalk to keep up on things with triumph. Been riding since I was 12,am now 72. Bought a Tiger 800 a couple of years ago and helped out on the overland rally in central PA. Did east coast enduros in the 70s, WERA roadracing and endurance racing in the 80s.
I spent the last year and a half rebuilding a old friend’s VIncent Blackshadow. I’ve never aspired to own one but the time spent putting it all back together and the fact that it started on the third kick made it all worth it.
These days I’m just cruising around with friends. Went down to NC a month ago and joined up with friends for a couple days of riding through the mountains. Saw lots of
️ and ended up on the dragon (not my idea of having fun) in order to get back into NC after a ride on The Cherohala Skyway.
So far the Tiger is one of my favorite bikes. I still have a few other- 1977 BMW R100rs bought new, a 98 Honda VFR800, 2004 VTR1000 and finally a MV Agusta Stradale which has to have the worst riding position of any bike. I recently spent some time on a KTM 390 Duke and think if only one bike to own, it would be in the running.
Now if anyone can tell me where to find the windscreen used on the Icon Triumph 800 bikes let me know!
