Hey! Can't beat those Trophy 1200s ...eh?

That's not a stock color that I have ever seen on a Trophy...it looks great!

Are those Staintunes?

Looks like we now have 4 Trophy riders here now. Pooksta is also in OZ.

Wow thanks for the compliments all... I think it is just the pics , don't worry it has its little scratches on it here and there , the bike has done almost 70,000 klm
it is a standard colour , it is melot red I think.
Here is a link to another thread scroll down when you open it here at TT https://www.triumphtalk.com/showthread.php/384-Triumph-Trophy-900-1200 incidently this is the link that got me to sign up here :y15:
And yes Seeker they are staintunes.
Just waiting on my Hagon shock ( should get here this week ) to fit it up
Gives me the same pleasure when riding it as did the Thruxton I had except it stops the wind and has about 30 more horses :y2:

Yes in the photos it looks like an eggplant purple. So in reality we both have the same "merlot" paint. I notice that your passenger peg mounts are not gray but silver as well (mine are gray like the engine).

There's another Trophy owner who's had trouble getting just the right size windscreen to stop turbulence and buffeting that will want to inquire about your addition of a deflector.

By the way do you have risers to raise your bars?

Yep seeker the footpeg mounts were at one stage polished but I am taking them off and getting them done the same colour as the engine.
For those who are curious the deflector is made by VTA Vario Touring Screen and it works :y15:
No to the risers but if it proves to bad for my arms then maybe .
Though it doesn't seem that bad.
Already been there DaveM :y2: got some good info .........

I found the GenMar risers a great improvement, then again I prefer a more standard riding position too. I didn't think you had them since the plastic cover over the bar mounts weren't modified. In addition, if you can still find them, the wind deflectors for the handgrips was also a nice addition when things get chilly.

That also doesn't look like a GIVI monolock top box?

Jixr in the Trophy section is the member who'd be interested in that wind deflector.

If you ever get pulled over in OZ, hopefully it will be Pooksta (Lee)....he's a copper over there and also does custom sheepskin seat covers on the side! :)

G'day Spitty,

Nice Trophy. Don't see too many in merlot but a guy here in Geelong, Vic has a Sprint 900 in that colour. He got a sheepskin seat cover off me a while back. Same seat as the Trophy. I had Staintunes on mine too but I put the stockies back on as the cook said they were too loud and she couldn't hear her iPod. Can't have an unhappy Missus eh! So, I drilled out 4 x 10mm holes in the rear of the stock muffler, Nth, Sth, East and West to improve the breathing. worked well too!

I put the cash from the Staintunes towards my recently new Fender Telecaster so I'm still happy and able to make noise :) Just clocked 147,000 klms on my 2001 1200. Did a trip over to Adelaide and the Barossa valley area, Adelaide Hills etc... Brilliant. Also went to the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. Susie had to literally drag me out of there. Sooo many great bikes and cars to drool over. It's a must if your ever over that way.Where did you get the seat cover? If you ever want a weatherproof for it, we make them up too!

Just did a seat cover for a 1952 Vincent Rapide. The customer dropped the bike off so we could make up a pattern for the seat. Said he'd collect it in a few days. I couldn't believe what was sitting in my workshop. Took HEAPS of pics and seriously considered sleeping next to it in case someone got wind of it. That's the oldest bike we've covered so far.

Great to see you on Triumphtalk mate.

Ride Safe,

Lee :) (Pooksta)
