Just a rider for 57 years and on Harleys for 48 of those I feel that I may be reaching "adulthood". Bought an '08 rocket 3 yesterday & need to learn a little something about maintenance & repair of these units, along with meeting riders & their experiences. I've built engines & complete customs & have a little knowledge about mechanics so I want to learn about Triumphs.

You certainly went with a beast of bike. Feeling the differences between HD's and Triumphs out on the road is pretty fun all in itself. I don't play the "one is better than the other" game. I've owned both as well. Both rides are legend.

Have fun. Send us pics of your projects.

Well thank you all. As for the beast, we'll see how it compares to the K1600 that I tried out for a year?

:five: Welcome! A close neighbor of mine has has a 2003 Rocket, so I hear a lot about it. He is a retired cop, and has taken the California Highway Patrol motorcycle training, so he knows the difference between HD and Triumph.

Search Youtube for comparisons of the Ducati Diavel and the Rocket, And a video of a pair of brothers drag-racing the Diavel and the Rocket; they were impressed, with one gravitating to the Rocket more than the other.
