OK, I'll introduce myself. I've been riding street bikes since 1970. I'm now 72 years old. I live in Maine. I own three British bikes, a 1970 TR6R, a 1971 BSA Rocket III and a 1974 Norton Commando. I've owned the TR6R since new and am familiar with just about everything on the bike, but need some help with a technical issue and as soon as I learn how to post a question I will do so. Thanks for letting me join.

Thank you for the welcome message. I live inland Maine, but do get down to the coast when I want a lobsta feed. Hoping that someone can help me with doing a search. I get nowhere when I search for info on missing 2nd gear on my TR6R. What I get is a message stating that the words I'm using are either too short or too long. 2nd and 650cc seem to offend the system.

I suggest you post some questions in the classics section where our resident classics guru, Grandpaul, may see it and offer some help.
Not that many look at these intro threads so your problems mentioned above go mostly unnoticed.

Got some guidance from DavidM. I made the post, I think! There seems to be a subject line and then an option box, like the one I'm in now. Am I correct? And, Thanks for the help.

Welcome to TT from your Easterly neighbour.
Maine is a great state to ride and enjoy all the natural beauty in. Been there many times.
Jump in and have fun.
Not used to this Forum. Don't know why your message appears in the reply, but so be it. Been riding for 48 years, but had a lot of non-riding years mixed in. All the usual stuff. Anyway, rode my 1974 Commando last week and as soon as it dries up a bit I'll take the Triumph out.
Yes, Maine is filled with great two lane roads that bring people to nice small towns filled with nice people. See many bikes on the roads every day, well every day until the winter gets here.

Don't know why your message appears in the reply, but so be it.

That is simply because you "clicked" the reply button in Q's message. You can also quote a portion of a message to respond to, as I did. If you want add to the thread without quoting or replying, just go to the bottom of the thread and add new information/material.
