Hi all,
I am a new member and new again motorcycle owner. Previously had a 1970 Triumph Bonneville, 650. I bought it new in 1970. (wow that's a long time ago) Now older, wiser, scared more bought a 2012 Triumph Thunderbird 1597. Its a big step up for this older dude. However I just love the bike & its looks. However over the years I must have shrunk, because I would feel more comfortable with longer legs. I have big boots but would like to lower the seating position either by different seat or lowering shocks.

Hello and welcome to TT BBEER
Lots of old dudes here already so you're in good company and should fit right in.
I too am a new biker after being away from the sport for 34 years.
A great civil and friendly bunch here who like to help if they can.
Maybe the T-bird owners can give you some tips about the seating position.

Welcome back to bikes, Triumph and to TT from Southeast Texas.

If you have questions, we have answers. . . maybe not for the questions you might ask but that never stopped us from giving answers. :y2:

Welcome to TT from Eastern Canada and back into riding again.
That's definitely a big step up from your last ride.
There are options to lower or change the seat for the T'Bird, just have to browse the web. I think Mustang makes a seat for those and maybe Corbin. Those are a couple of sites you could check out.
Check out the Thunderbird forums for more info on them.
Cruiser Customizing is another place to check for aftermarket accessories.

Welcome from another Yankee!
If we spread the word, we may outnumber them soon!:ROFLMAO:
I too had a (17 year) hiatus from riding while my daughter grew up. Started back with an America, then after nearly 8 years, "graduated" to the T-Bird. You're gonna love it, just don't let it start to tip, 'cause it sure is a heavy sucker!
