When I was chasing the short in my wiring system several weeks back, I took the instrument housing apart and changed out the instrument (Tachometer & Speedometer) lights from the Halogen T-10 to the LED soft white. Attached is the difference.
One word of caution in that make sure the contact points are in the right ordination, as I had to take it apart a second time, but in the end it was worth it.

Just wish the T-6.5 lights for the signal/oil pressure lights came in an LED as in the day light they are very hard to see!

Riding the TBird now and its one of the better Thunder Birds i’Ve owned over the years……

Finally had some time, now that all the outside choirs are done to take the T-Bird out to check out the instrument lights on a super bright sunny day! With the LED conversion, HUGE difference in that I can see the instrument panel lights, especially the directional arrows. Well worth the time.
Still nothing on the neutral light, after replacing the plunger switch for the transmission cam’s! Such are the joys ow owning a vintage Triumph‍

Source for the LEDs? Looks great! Always been a problem reading them in daylight. The clocks and the panel between are one of the crappy parts of one of my favorite bikes of the many I've owned. I have owned my '96 for about 6-8 years- had "troubles" with speedo/tach since day one- broken trip meter knob on 2 different speedos, erratic "freak out" on 3 different tachs- all bought as "good used" before prices skyrocketed. Kinda liked the white faced Speed Triple(?) items. If they ever come apart (again) think I'll swap to the white faces.

Mr. Dearborn, Will dig out the two specific LED that you will need to do the upgrade tomorrow, as my evening is coming to a close. Both items are US supplied. Sleep well!

Good afternoon to everyone, Went and dug through my correspondence and here is the info you need to get the replacement LED for the instrument warning lights for the Thunderbird.

The first ones are for the background lights for the instrument themselves as you will need two for each side. These can be gotten on Amazon.

The last two photos are where these smaller LED came from along with name and toll free number to contact. The last photo is what I ordered and the different colors needed to complete the project.

I have to dig into my neutral light LED as it doesn’t work, and I know its something simple - I hope Have a great weekend and don’t have to much barley pop!

I assume that the warning lights take the same size bulb as a Bonnie - in which case they are available - changed mine. I'm in UK, but guess they'll be available in CDN too.

Good day, No idea if they are interchangeable with the Bonnieville’s! Although I am in Canada, I ordered these LED bulbs from the good old US of A. I am sure they are available in the UK, so do a web search as I have listed the ones that I utilized and good luck, because once you do the change up, you will have a much brighter day!
