September is passing quickly and the temperatures are slowly dropping as we move towards fall. Other than a day ride it will soon be too cool for comfortable touring - especially in the early morning.
Wednesday morning my riding buddy and I are leaving for the Cabot Trail which is 5-6 hours east of Halifax. Normally, I can do it in two days alone, but my buddy (15 years younger) doesn't have the stamina I have so it's a three day tour. We'll be riding our H***a CB900F's (919's in the USA).
The time to go is now or put it off until next year. The forecast is for cooler weather next week and possibly longer.
Average daytime temps this time of year are 18C (65F) which is perfect in full riding gear.
I know, I know, some of you are already shivering at the thought of such cold temps :ya2:
I'll see you in a few days.

Well, you know what they say about the best made plans........
Cooler Arctic weather with rain was moving into the northeast so we changed gears and went to the southwest for two days instead of three.
The Cabot Trail will have to wait until next year unless we get a sudden blast of warm air. Nights are down to 4-6C (39-43F) so that makes for cold morning rides.
The area we went to was mostly coastal routes with lots of bends, but no highlands or mountainous terrain.
The 4-cylinder water cooled fuel injected 900F's (919's) have 110hp and are a joy to ride long distances.
I have a couple of pics which I'll post later.

I've found that sometimes plans changed at the last minute can end up for the better.
We must be spontaneous or get old and crotchety.

Now I think I will act spontaneously and have a beer. :y18:
