the true feeling of bitter sweet huh.
a bit like watching your mother in law backing over a cliff in your favourite car.
as dilli said, be nice if we could keep em all..

It's more bitter than sweet really. I didn't realize how attached i was to that thing. I just hope the Tbird lives up to the task of making me love it as much. On a side note, i always wondered what the bike sounded like going by with the thunderbike pipes. As he rode off i was surprised at how good they sounded and how NOT loud they were. They sure seemed a lot louder when on the bike. Anyways, i am truly sad.

Now the sadness will soon vanish when you swing your leg over your new T-bird :y114:

Congratulations on the sale, Dale. I know how you are feeling. I have sold several bikes I darn near cried over. Have you put a deposit on the T-Bird yet? Do keep us posted, please.

I'm not going to put a deposit after all. I started thinking about it and i need to know the exact price i'll be paying, and the dealer said even if i put money down they can't give me an exact price. The deposit is also not refundable. So if i give them thier $500, they then know they have me over a barrel and can charge me whatever they want. And i'm on the edge of not being able to afford it with any peace of mind as is. I know what they normally charge, and thats what i base my price on. (they normally charge $200-300 more than list out the door) So the possibility exists i could be w/o a bike for the summer. But we shall see. I know my dealer said they have no pre-orders so far, so if they still don't when the bike arrives i'll be ok.

I, too, would not put a non-refundable binder down without a written contract specifying the exact, final price. Slip the dealer $100 bucks to hold you a blue one.

I just talked to the dealer and the salesman called the owner then called me back. The owner said he will try and find out what the invoice will be so he can set a price. the salesman also said they have a number of them on order and that i will have no problem getting one right away. he's going to call me with any further info or when a blue one arrives. Man o man....i cannot wait.

Congratulations on selling your bike, hope you got what you wanted for her. Hope the T-bird deal falls together for you, looking forward to the review.

Not what i hoped to get, but the guy was here and he made an offer and wouldn't budge. So i just figured the difference was worth it to not have to keep placing ads and having more people over. But i didn't give it away or anything, so i'm fine with it. And you'll get a review....oh boy, will you get a review !!! :ya2: :ya2: :ya2: (Dave, how much text will one post hold? :y114:)
