I've just received all my vehicle licenses in the mail, due for renewal. I noticed that I bought my little red scooter 7 years ago already amidst much jibing, ribbing and derision. Now however, scoots seem to have become 'cool' all of sudden and this one has a scoot, that one wants a scoot and so on. However, my scoot now appears as if it's due to be kid-jacked!

Scooters are indeed becoming all the rage. Lots of them on our streets now.

I don't mean to hijack this thread CRY but I was just reading an article about scooters.
The country of Indonesia is a little over twice the size of our province of Ontario and has a population on 240 million!!!
Canada only has a population of 34 million. With all our wide open spaces it's hard to believe there are so many people in such a small space
PT Astra Honda Motor is Honda's joint venture company in Indonesia and they have begun construction of a fourth motorcycle factory. The maximum annual production capacity of the four factories will be 5.3 million units.
Expected sales for 2012 as it is, is 4.8 million units of scooters and small motorcycles.
These numbers really boggle the mind!!

Thanks Rocky - when I took that photo, I saw FS's loooong look of consternation. Never said a word, just quietly kept glancing sideways at what was going on with the Scrambler

I just chuckle at the little games being played at the moment and the HUGE unmissable hints - lad's going to be 16 this month.

He does fit the scrambler good G,but make sure he gets in plenty of smaller bike riding time before you let him loose on a big machine.
I'm not saying he should be restricted to the scoot, but definitely something smaller than the scrambler.
Over here, by law he would be restricted to 250cc.

Devo - our law is the same - from age 16 - 18 he is limited to a 250. We'll also take him to a riding school and give him plenty time kn the scoot. He's got a long way to go before he moves up the cc ranks.

The first time we looked after our baby granddaughter her mother returned and asked "How did you go?" Quick as a flash I said "We took her out and got her ears pierced." You should have seen her face until she got the joke.
