I hate computers and printers

I decide that it is time to start saving the environment and not print so much but rather scan .First problem,my printer only scans to email ,bad .So off I go and get this state of the art printer scanner (duplex nogal),makes coffee takes kids to school ,everything.Ha ha

I load software on first machine ,all fine .Go to second one and all seems to be fine BUT not all software loads ?????.I can stand on my head ,dance a jig,nothing .HP can't help.Steve can't help as he is in Cape Town ,my new computer guy can't help but conns me into a new router and more software .I have now loaded and uninstalled 10 times ,been on the website and downloaded from there

Networks suck,computers suck and until I can find a computer expert that can actually solve problems and not cost me a fortune ,they suck too (Steve excluded)

Operating System & Service pack
Anti Virus, Firewall, anti any thing installed

What is actually happening when you try and install

The problem is probably one of Microsuck's Security Updates.

I had trouble installing the software for a printer/fax/scanner once and after hours of troubleshooting, there was ONE tech at the printer tech support who knew that a certain security update by MS blocks the installation.

Once I uninstalled that update, the software installed immediately!

I am running two identical machines with win xp pro serv pack2 .It works on one and not the other.
