I don't know how some of you southerners do it....

It has been over +32 degrees Celsius here for the past few days and I am dying. I think I may spontaneously combust......my pale next to albino skin is not meant for anything over +23C. I am actually starting to look forward to coming to work because at least they have AC. I'll take our crappy winters over this any day....it is to hot to even ride. I can't believe some of you live in this all the time.

We have a saying around here, "There are four seasons, January, Summer, Summerer and Christmas.". It's been pretty mild this week with a lot of rain.

To protect your skin wear long sleeves and jeans during the Summer and Summerer so you don't burn.

Funny now we think the opposite this side as it has been around 8c going up to around 17c around 10am this last week (middle of our winter now) and I just cannot take it. This extreme cold weather last us a few weeks then it's back to the normal 11c - 20c for a few weeks and that is about it for our winter :y2: This last summer we had days running in the 40's c and I would sooner have that any day

Rbeans ...im with you thats just to hot ! and dave !...extreme cold ! 8c to 17c :y4: thats a plesant riding day .
we regulary get down to -20c in the winter , although this year was mild with only -8c .
theres no way us lot could meet up ! SAD we just couldn't find a country in the world with weather that we could all live with ! :y23:

I nearly busted a gut laughing at Dave's "extreme cold" remark.
But it's all about how your body has adapted to your own environment.
Like Rbeans, I can't take the heat either. This week has been quite warm here with temps at 26-27C (79-80F). That's tolerable, but is expected to go up to 30C (86F) by the weekend. At least the humidity is low so it's not too bad.

Rbeans, I am about the cold as you are about the heat. I ride routinely in 30C to 40C temps. I am uncomfortable though at anything over 37 C. But I had rather ride in in 37 C temps than in 3 C temps.

We never get 37C here, but even at 30-31C I don't ride. It's just to hot and uncomfortable. If I feel like a ride I'll do it in the evening or very early morning when it's cooler.
I see people every day riding in T-shirts and shorts, but I can't bring myself to dress that way - on a bike - but I dress that way otherwise :y2:

If I remember correct the temperature on this ride was was in the 35 to 37 DegC range. I do know it was a great ride that day.

This race was during 34 to 38 DegC range with extreme humidity, the only one he ever ran with a short sleeve on.

And this ride started in the 37 to 39 DegC range but turned cold, down to around the 22 DegC range by time I got home. That summer jacket isn't right for a rainy 22 C night.

I can hardly stand to ride below 10 DegC, got to make a lot of stops for coffee or hot chocolate.

Well, when it gets down to the 9-10C range that's getting cool for me too. Usually not too cold to ride because I have warm riding gear, but cool nonetheless. Like you, lots of coffee stops.
As long as it's fine weather I'll ride, but if it's that cold and wet, fu-ged-a-boud-it :y2:

I still wear my mesh jacket and pants in those temps. But I avoid riding in the city when it is hot like that.

Cold and wet I do NOT do. :y2:

With you on that being a good riding day!

I honestly do better at -40 than I do at +30, I rode to work today and sitting in traffic thought I was going to melt, not all that enjoyable.

All in what you're body is used to. Often ride in 30+ C temps here in South Alabama, don't mind it a bit. However as a youngster in North Eastern Ohio on the edge of Lake Erie we would ride our dirt bikes on the ice, and in below freezing temps wearing little more (and sometimes less) than the gear I currently wear in 30+C temps. :y2: Wouldn't wanna do that again now........but if I moved back up North I would acclimate in time I am sure.... I mean ya GOTTA ride! I also ride in the rain..... a lot... Mobile Al. is 1 of the top 5 rainiest Cities in the U.S. annually. Others don't ride in the rain at all or very rarely.....don't really mind it myself, Hell the boss lets me leave early to avoid the "dangerous" rush hour traffic when its raining ----ah the perks of bike ownership--- lol
