Monday morning, several minutes after I finally crawled into bed following the third night of my night shift, the doorbell rang. Since Kim was still home I didn’t bother to get up, I probably would not have gotten up even if she had already left for work. I could just barely hear what sounded like voices but I didn’t pay any attention to them. A minute or two later Kim came to the bedroom and said PVPD was at the door and there had been a wreck. Before she could say anything else my first thought was that one of the boys had been involved but she continued to talk and I realize she said MY truck had been involved in the wreck. Still not processing the information correctly I asked what she had said. She said a woman had hit my truck, she had pulled into our driveway to turn around and either hit the gas instead of the brake or had THOUGHT it was in reverse but wasn’t.

The patrolman had been down the street talking to the woman about her dog that had gotten out and had been reported to the police by man out for his morning exercise due to the dog either charging at him or in some way showing aggression. While they were talking the dog was up the street in front of my house so she jumped in her Infinity SUV and drove up to get the dog. I seem to understand she had the dog in the SUV when she turned into my driveway. The patrolman was still down the street talking to the man that reported the dog when they heard the crash and knew what had just happened. The damage to my truck doesn’t appear to be very bad, Kim said the Infinity looked worse. I had thought I would just forget about the damage since it isn’t really noticeable other than the white paint from the SUV. But I’ve only had the truck for 2 ½ months and then I looked at the parts cost to replace the damaged pieces, $664.60 plus tax, paint and labor. I guess I’ll be seeing about getting some estimates.

Tuesday morning I had the chance to really look at the damage. There is more than I thought there was when I looked at it Monday evening as I was leaving for work. I took her in to get an estimate. The best guess at this time is $1500 to $2000 for repairs. They can't give a real cost until they start taking parts off since some of the damage/movement may be due to broken fasteners instead of broken parts. If the hood is tweaked the guess goes to at least $2500.

I wasn't parked near the street so she had to come a ways to hit the Taco. The most obvious damage is the license plate, it wasn't bent when I parked the truck.

Bad luck Hemi that sucks ! ..... and from experience i know it dosn't look much but the damage will be under neath ! , fingers crossed its just cosmetic and dosn't take much to fix .

Is she not responsible for the cost of the rears as anything being replace could start costing more than you thought.
Yes, her insurance company is responsible for the cost of repairs. Now my only problem in nailing down the insurance adjuster. I'm working nights this week and he only works during my bedtime. :furious:
I start one of my vacations at 0430 tomorrow and I plan to light his phone up. By time I'm thru with him his voicemail will explode with all the messages he gonna get.
