Does anyone out there use British USA in Houstonfor service? I just had my Speed Triple serviced there and it was the worst experience ever. They damage my oil sump when theput it on the lift. Even though I live2.5 hours away they only offered a loaner for the weekend no longer. It took 2.5 weeks to fix what they had damaged. They called and told me it was ready and when I drove back to Houston I cranked it up to load it in the back of my truck I discovered a huge exhaust leak by my right ankle. The gasket was destroyrd by them when they replace the oil sump. They took it back tightened it a little and told me it was good. It was still leaking. They offered no solution andjust looked at me as if I was crazy. The service dept does not have any type of quality control. They are lazy and sloppy. The manager refused to talk to me. After I gave them the option of a loaner bike until they fix my bike and deliver my bike to me or replacing it with a 2011 model on their showroom, they decided to cannibalize the gasket off of the floor model. So after two trips to Houston (160 miles one way) and hours around their shop in frustration I finally took my S3 home. I will never use that dealership again and will warn other to steer clear.

Wow....sorry to hear they treated you so badly.

I would let Triumph America know about this by intimating the same story to them. They CAN'T be too happy to hear of such atrocious treatment by one of their dealers.

I won't use them They do not have a good rep in the Houston area or Texas with Triumph riders. I know several people that have suggested Polaris West for Triumph service in the Houston area. If I need a dealer I will go to Waco. Austin and Dallas would be my next choice.

I don't know how people can think they can give service like this and get away with it. However I suppose at the end of it if Triumph accepts this type of service then what can we do. :y14:

That's the way to go.
I'd also send a copy of what you send to Triumph America to the dealer in question and any other clubs that are in the area. Show clearly that the letter is being CC'd for others to see.

I know they would never touch my bike again if it were me! I believe Trey bough his S3 in Waco because this Houston dealer was being a jerk. I expect Trey will do most of his own maintenance now of which he is perfectly capable of doing.

Thanks for the support. Waco would be the number one choice but I just received a letter that it was no longer a Triumph dealership. That is unfortunate because they were a great dealership.

That seems to be what happens to all the really good dealers while the lousy ones seem to always keep their franchises.

My favorite Triumph dealership (which was further away) lost it's franchise allegedly because they only sold 35 bikes one year. In this economy, and in a fairly small market area, I think 35 bikes is doing pretty darned good. He had been a Triumph dealer in the 1960's and kept open as a Triumph repair and restoration shop until Triumph made their comeback. He had a faithful following, but just happened to be located in a rather rural area.

Now, the only dealership is a multi-bike dealer who sells BMW, Aprilia, Vespa, Ducati, and Triumph. I can't stand the attitude of the sales people there who actually want to talk you out of buying a Triumph. Most people I know that have bought even BMWs there can't stand their attitude.

To make matters worse, I seriously doubt that they sold more than 35 Triumphs in the same year the other guy lost his franchise.

This HURTS Triumph.

Dang it, they are good people at Waco. I'll have to check with them next time I'm up there to see if they will still be servicing Triumphs.

I did not know they had to sell a certain amount to stay open. I wonder how our local dealer manages to stay open then :y7:
the point of selling a bike is so you get the servicing after, thats where the money is to be made. there is very little profit to be made in a new bike, you make the money in after care,
so a good after care is vital .
other wise why bother !
