I've had a few British bikes over the years and used to do my own rebuilds. The novelty has pretty much worn off these days except I still mess around with my '78 Bonnie.
My first bike was a BSA Bantam and first road bike, a 1948 C11 BSA that cost me $15 and I rebuilt as a basket case.
The first big bike I owned was an ex-police A65 BSA then I brought a brand new T140 Bonnie in 1975 when I was 18 years old.
That got stolen a couple of years later and since then I've always had Triumphs except for a short stint with a 1977 Ironhead Sportster.
Over the years I've owned a 650 Bonneville, a '75 Trident that went like the wind, a '96 Speed Triple and nowadays I own a 1978 Bonneville and more recently, a 2003 Bonnie.
My favourite ride though was a 1979 Tiger that I owned for 15 years and rode all over South Eastern Australia with my trusty Red Heeler, Ruby Dog on the tank.
I've been dropping in on your Forum for a few years now and thought it was time to join the club so thanks fellas for letting me in.
Cheers
