Just got back from a charity run around the Lake district to raise money for our wounded servicemens charity, Help for Heroes.
I met up with Lake and my mate Ian, at Darryl's cafe for a 'full monty' fry up and a mug of tea.
Rode into Windermere to register for the ride, there was a good turn out, not sure how many, but I would guess about 500 bikes.
Riders registering.
Marshalling for the event was by the Goldwing owners of the 'Appy Wanderer's club', they did an excellent job. The traffic was stopped at every junction until all riders were through.
There was a good variety of rides on the field,
some old ones
The mods were in town!
The paint on this scoot was excellent!
There was even a group of nutters on mopeds!
My favourite pic of the day!
We were played out by the local brass band.
The ride was led by local racer James Ellison.
There was also a couple of Coronation Street actors there, Steve McDonald (cap on)and Bill Webster (on the mic) (don't know there real names!), and comic Roy Walker (white hair in front of caravan)
Lake and Ian at the finish in Cockermouth
Me and Lake
Great day out for a great cause. 155 mile round trip and it stayed fine most of the way, except the last 20 miles.
The old bonnie ran a treat!
