Hello From Canada,
I am a New Partaker Here, Been Riding as Novice For Decades, Country Lad, Not Many Opportunities Until I Purchased my One and Only Ride in 1995
The Seller Actually Had the 75 T140V and a 69 650 Bonnie with Fiberglass Bags, Singles etc...I never Seen it as it was my Procrastination That Left me Out of the Buy....3500 CAD for Both!!!!
I Did Eventually Go To Drayton Valley Alberta to View,,,,(After my Girl Pushed me a Little too Hard One Day, I Said to Myself Well then Fine..., I'll Fix Her Wagon)
So I Drove 2 hrs to Start a New Relationship...One I Have Always Cherished, Now Going on 25 yrs.
,,,,,,,Bart Dragged it out of a Shed, Mouse Nests and All, Hand Painted Green Tank and Pretty Old of Course, 20 yrs old at the Time, The Mileage I Think Then was Somewhere in the 9000 range, I Cant remember and never Wrote it Down...Like a Dummy
He Threw a Gallon of Petrol in, Put a Battery In, Kicked it Over 20 Some Hundred Times and it Finally Fired and Stayed Running,,,Fricken Amazing When You Think About It
It Took awhile, but Eventually it Ran Smooth ish.....after a Five Minute Warm up and Throttle Urging Bart Ripped er Down the Gravel Country Road, the Sound Was Amazing...
He Rode it, I Rode it, Made The Buy at 2200 and Threw it in the Back of my 73 D200 Pumpkin Orange Extended Cab Pickup and Drove Home With The Biggest Smirk on my Face and Started Dreaming
I STored it Inside, and the Next Time Momma Gave me the Gears, I Hauled it Straight to Johnny Black at Time Machine in Edmonton AB
John Stripped it Down, Powdered the Frame, Cleaned it Up, Top to Bottom
The Machine Shop Wrecked the Original Head, so That and a Few Sundries are not Original
I Rode Seldom, We Do Have Long Winters, But Evry Ride Was a Pleasure and It Only KLet Me Down Once in the Heated Day of a Santa Clause Parade, and That was an Overheating Clutch, I Knew enough to not Burn it up, and Luckily, The Parade Had Slowed To a Crawl Anyway so No One Noticed I Was Pushing For a Reason
i Finally Achieved a Real Licence at 50yrs of Age, 2011 only Because I Was Moving to OZZ
I Shipped the Bike There as I Valued it To Much to Risk Leaving it in Storage in Canada, But The Ozzy Imports Asses Wanted to Drill Holes in My Frame to Mount Their 2 Dollar Aluminum Hand Stamped Import Compliance Tag....Because it Wasn't Manufactured in Australia!!!!!....
That Was Never Gonna Happen in My Books, and I Took Offence to The Insult of an Ozz Manufacturing Anything as Nice as a Trumphet so,
It Stayed Under Wraps for 4 Years there, Pulled out to Start and Listen and Enjoy the Memories Periodically and lube The Systems,,,Until I Repatriated Back To BC Canada 2015
I Rebuilt The Carbs and Fork Seals and Had it Polished up Nicely, and it Sat Again for 4 years.
Now in 2020, I Finally Pulled it out of The Seacan, Last Month, Its Been Almost 10 Years Since I Rode Any Distance, I Said I Was Novice, and I Still Am...and i Like it That Way
I Started Working the Little Things to Clean it Up, Show it Love and Care...., It Started Right Up With Fresh Petrol, Rode Nicely Down The Street Started and Stopped as it Should, but Of Course Like We All Dread,,,it Did Die Eventually. But Being Old and Wise, I Was Keen Enough To Not Wonder Off To Far....
The Driveway is a Perfect Place to Breakdown....More People Should Try It....
With The Help of My Old Friend at Motoparts.com in Edm. John Oland, Stand Up and Take a Bow Please, Who Has been There When ever I Have Ever Been in Need, He Is the Man For Us...I Cannot Give Enough Thanks of Praise To His Commitments and Business / Britt Bike Savvy. Thank You John, Happy Birthday To You...
After Some Trouble Shooting Tips, it Seems a Zener Diode (Who Knew??) Will or May Be My Simple Solution, as are Most Answers to Trumphet Problems, they Seem Simplistic and In Expensive Considering The Joy and Happiness I Feel When I Hear it Run and Bark...Waiting on a Part or Two Next Week, Some Plate Rego Tags and Should Be All Set To Get Out And Run it Into Reliability Where Then, I Plan To Tour The Lower Mainland BC, Maybe Hook Up in a Club or at Least Join in and Share Some Activities,,,,
Until Then I Can Still Say...I Love Talking to it, Playing Around On it and Just Staring at its Beauty.......
There is Always another Small Item to Clean, Tweak or Just Fiddle and Adjust,,,,,Never Completely Completed,,,and i Always Want It To Be That Way....
I Know This Has Been Long Winded, and I Appreciate Anyone Who Has Stayed Until the Finish.....Ride Well, and Ride Safe Everyone....Best of Days To Ya....
