Hi folks,
i figured it's about time I did an introduction. My name is Dave Parsons, I've been riding for over 40 years. I also did some roadracing in the 70's-80's. When I was around 19 years old, I bought a used Triumph Bonneville that turned out to be the biggest POS I've ever owned. I swore right then that I'd never own another British bike, so it took a lot of convincing before I put out the cash for a new Triumph. Predjudice dies hard. When I decided to sell my trusty SV650, I did a lot of shopping around. I was about to buy an Aprilla Shiver, but then saw the new Thruxton R. It was love at first sight. To me, it just looks right. Not like all the offerings from the Japanese makers with their Star Wars styling and extensive use of plastic. It's a motorcycle, dammit.
Anyhow, I hope to post up a lot, and hope to get some worthwhile information from this forum. I do all my own maintenance, but I'm hoping the bike will be pretty much maintenance free (unlike my last Triumph). So far, so lovely. So hello, everyone, and welcome me.
