My wife was of Irish extraction with her blood lines going back to immigrants to Canada in the 1800's.
Mine is all British. My mother was born in England and my father can trace his roots back to the first immigrants from England to what is now New England in the USA.
His ancestors didn't come over on the Mayflower, but it was sometime in the era.
Following the American Revolution many families and individuals who still supported the crown were labeled Loyalists and came north to what is now Canada.
