Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians here on the site.
We are few and small in numbers, but mighty :y2:
In about an hour our vintage bike club will be motoring along the coast for breakfast and then looping back to a members house for a BBQ this afternoon.
It's a glorious sunny morning and the temps should be in the 20's (mid 70'sF) along the coast with the cooler Atlantic Ocean breezes.
Summer has finally arrived TUP

Yeah to you all

What's that crazy anna mule doon out on a road in winter???
He's supposed to be holed up in his beaver hutch by his beaver dam!!!!
He must be new in town and hasn't learned the local customs yet :y2:

:y23: the odd thing is, most Canadians don't say "eh."
I don't say it and noboby I know says it, but I guess it came from somewhere so somebody must say/said it.

We take a lot for granted in this country and we have it pretty good here - which is not to say that we don't have all the same problems as most developed countries - because we do.
But all that aside, this is a great place to live (in spite of our cold winters :y2:) and the lines are long with people from other countries trying to get in here.
But all the celebrations on 1 July give you pause to reflect and think about how lucky we are.
Even our Prime Minister (who isn't loved by everyone by any means) was given rock star treatment as he did a walk-about among the thousands who had gathered in the capitol for the concerts and other celebrations.
The fact that he can do that without being smothered by security says something about us I think.
Yes, It's been a great day and we're all very proud TUP

No Security? It certainly does say volumes!
Mr. Obama would certainly not be able to do that. :y2:
For all I know he may have been wearing a "vest" under his suit, but it wasn't evident in the TV pics.
Both he and the Govenor General (the Queen's figure-head rep) both walked among the people and touched hands with anyone who wanted to. The PM was even cheered during his speech.
I guess it was a day for celebration and not a day for politics - just as it should be.
It's pretty disgusting that your President's can't have the same freedom.
I remember November 22, 1963 like it was yesterday. My pregnant wife called me at my office to tell me that President Kennedy had been shot. Like 9/11, that was a day that changed the world.
