Happy Canada Day 150 to the few Canadians here on the forum.
150 years ago today we peacefully became a nation. That's a pretty short time compared to most nations.
Unlike our good friends to the south we remained under British rule until 1867 and then quietly signed the document that began the confederation of the provinces and regions that is now Canada.
Also unlike our good friends to the south we had no wild west or indian wars. We didn't have any Jesse James', Billy The Kid's, Wild Bill Hickok's or Wyatt Earp's.
The Northwest Mounted Police went west first to establish law and order, followed by the settlers.
It was all very peaceful and dull compared to the Americans
Unfortunately, it's also going to be a wet weekend here on the coast so our Canada Day ride and BBQ has been cancelled
for the first time in the 21 years I've been with the club.
