Who watched the M-Net (satelite tv) programmes called: Half Ton Mom and the second one Half Ton Dad?

It was disgusting to see a man reach the total weight of 1014 pounds!!! Due to nothing more than gluttony. The US emergency services had to cut a wall out of his bedroom because they couldn't get him through the door and then cut the front door to get him to the ambulance to get him to hospital for a state sponsored operation to decrease the size of his intestines (digestive bypass) so that he would eat less and loose weight! It was enough to make me vomit. He hadn't been able to get out of bed, let alone the house for 4 years. He couldn't bathe, couldn't clean himself after bodily functions. Totally gross! They had to first remove 2 pure fat cysts from his inner thighs, each weighing over 20 pounds, before they could even get his feet to the ground. They had to us garden hoses to wash him before they could put him in a reinforced bed!

The woman, who was only 29, reached the grand weight of 960+pounds. You can literally ditto the scenario above. She died 2 weeks after the operation leaving behind 2 beautiful daughters.

6 Big Mac's, fries and a gallon of coca cola for a snack?? That's pure gluttony.

What was really disgusting, was watching the daughter of 1014lb man feed her 4 month old daughter a hamburger and fries. She should be arrested for child abuse!

Yeh I watched that programme. It was absolutly sickening. The paramedics said the room belonging to fat man smelt "like a huge dirty diaper".

Morbid obesity doesn't seem to be a problem in African or Asian countries. Apparently 80% of Americans and 60% of Australian are obese.

No wonder there is a world food shortage. The Americans are eating it all.

What about the young teenage boy they had on the programme. His mother wanted to see him date and go to the prom "just like other 17 year old boys". Hell, he couldn't even get off the bed let alone go out and dance!

This obesity thing is a serious problem. Since MacDonalds and other fast food western type places opened up in China, for the first time in their history they now have a problem with obesity in children!

There's no excuse for living on a totally fast food diet. If you're on welfare, unemployed and draining tax payers money, breeding indiscriminately, how the hell can you afford to feed a family of 12 on 5 burgers each a day.

I've never heard of the show. Food can be an addiction as strong as drug use. What I do not understand if the people who feed them. If they are unable to go get food stop fricken feeding them! Give them a damn apple for breakfast, a head of lettuce for lunch and a few slices of turkey for dinner. It's not like they can get mad, chase someone down and sit on them. :y114:

I think it starts off as a lack of nutritional education and then spirals out of control. Lots of people use food as an emotional crutch. We have an advert on TV for muesli. The chick is dumped by her boyfriend and the first thing her friends say is "lets eat". Even though they are advertising a healthy product, the message is the same: depressed? eat!

You see if they were bike riders, they can climb on their bikes and burn off their frustrations. Biking is a heathy lifestyle  Keeps you fit and emotionally sane.

Absolutely. Bikers don't need psychiatrists!
