I used to wear those goggles when I rode my vintage bikes, but wasn't happy with my peripheral vision so went to an open face helmet with a face shield after taking some stinging hits in the face from bugs.
It was part of "the vintage look", but I could see much better without them.
Several people in our club still wear them.

I use them all the time in the warmer weather; I like that they pretty much seal the eyes, as I wear one contact lens and it doesn't take much dust to irritate that eye. I always keep my eye out (pun intended) for the laminated glass tinted lenses, which were discontinued due to safety concerns, or so I was told; the "scratch resistant" polycarbonate ones will scratch up, in time.
If anyone makes a smart remark, I'll just tell them that I left my Spitfire at the airfield!!! Jim
