I just got off the phone after talking with some fellow that is moving and wanted to know if I would be interested in buying his bike collection.

Someone told him that I had a few classic British bikes and might be a potential buyer.

The problem is he wants to sell all of them as a group (something like 25 bikes!) and I certainly don't have that kind of cash. He also needed an answer by tomorrow!!

He said he had some really desirable bikes though.....such as Honda 305 Super Hawks, Honda 305 Dreams, a Honda 305 Scrambler:

and one that is quite rare, a 1965 BSA Cyclone 500 Twin:

Nice bikes, very desirable. If you don't have enough pocket money to purchase them as a collection remember you only have one backside and can only ride one bike at a time. Last year I sold 3 of my classics only keeping 1 classic and 1 new bike and I don't regret it at all. If we have money like Jay Leno buy them, if it'll stretch the budget don't think twice about it, smile and walk away.

Of the ones listed the BSA would temp me. I wouldn't waste my money on the others listed. YMMV

Well, he said he had '60s Nortons, Royal Enfields, a Matchless, and an AJS as well.

There's no way I could ever afford 25 classic bikes. He valued that BSA at $5600.00 (which actually is pretty reasonable considering the year and the condition). He said they all start on the first/second kick too!

I like that BSA and would love one or two of the Honda's but I think he may not sell the whole collection as he would like to. I just don't think many people are sitting around with that type of ready cash just waiting for a collection like this to come up as a group sell.

I would love that BSA and the Honda Scrambler. Both are very nice bikes. It is more of a hassle; but he will get more money selling them individually.
