GUY MARTIN SIGNS DEAL WITH SMITHS FOR TT 2015
23 FEBRUARY 2015 by Larky
Guy Martin has signed a deal to race a Triumph Daytona 675 for Smiths Triumph team in this year’s Isle of Man TT.
The Smiths Racing team are double British Championship winners, so with Martin on their side they’re set for another successful turn out!
Martin has achieved the runner-up spot seven times now, so he’ll be racing this 37.75 mile course with the hope of securing his first ever win.
Martin said: “I wanted the best tool for the job in the Supersport TTs so I rang Rebecca and we ended up doing a deal. I reckon the Triumph is the bike to be on and I remember Gary Johnson passing me on the Sulby Straight on the Smiths Triumph last year. Alan and Rebecca are proper people who run a fantastic team and to win on their debut last year says a lot about them. I’m planning a few jobs with the Triumph after the TT also so I’m looking forward to getting the job sorted.”
The successful Gloucester based Smiths team which is run by father and daughter duo Alan and Rebecca Smith has enjoyed great previous success, winning the 2012 British Supersport Championship with Aussies Glen Richards and then again in with Billy McConnell.
