THANKS FOR THE FLOWERS AND :y72:'s. My week? Lets just say I've had better. In order for immigration practitioners and attorneys to get "served" at the Jhb SA Dept of Home Affairs, immigration section, we get up at anywhere from 3:30am to 4:00am in order to get into the queue to get one of 25 golden "service tickets". If you don't get a ticket, you don't get "served" by a public servant goverment department! Then we wait until the doors open at 7:30am. Stampede your way in together with 500 other poor sods. Then you wait. By 2:00 pm, you're lucky if they're "serving" no 11! So we've had very long days fighting every moment of the way with Home Affairs, then doing the office work in the evenings, then dealing with our Embassies all over the world taking into account time zones and not forgetting that the Arab states don't work Thursday & Friday so we have to deal with them on Saturday or Sunday!! :angry:
Nonetheless, all fires extinguished. Have a massive headache at the moment but at least I can relax for the weekend. Monday starts the treadmill again!!
Plus provisional tax AND VAT were due today!

I don’t know how you manage to handle dealing with these departments every single day. When I need to do work at our one I hate it 
That's what Farside says but at least I don't have to deal with staff issues, union crap etc like Farside does in the manufacturing sector. His factory workers are a nightmare to say the very least.
But hey, IT'S FRIDAY! Plus to make this Friday even better, my nemesis at the Head Office of Home Affairs in the Legal Procedures division RESIGNED AND TODAY IS HER LAST DAY!!!! So I won't be lodging quite so many objections to the procedures of the Immigration Act anymore!!! One less headache! :y114:
