Has anyone installed these on a Street Twin? In all the years of tinkering on bikes I've never installed grips. I am aware it is easy to remove grips with WD40. Installation is new to me. I hear hair spay works best as an adhesive. My question is will they just slide on, my concern is the throttle side, be a bummer to mess up the fly by wire throttle.
What about the end caps, they get removed for these grips?
Thx

I like to use alcohol. You can use WD to get the old grips off if needed. If WD is used then clean the surfaces really well and use alcohol to lubricate the new grips as they are put on. I've never had one slip and no sticky stuff left to hinder changing them again latter on.

Rarely you might have to use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the new grips before installation but that generally is not the case with Grand Turismo style grips. Some EBay sellers sell grips that are like hard plastic so buy a decent set from a reputable source. As others have said the key is that you insure that the handle bar and throttle slide are clean before installation

Be careful because some if not most or even all triumphs these days have a throttle tube thats like a waffle affair that the stock grips fit into like a jigsaw puzzle. I have a 2010 thunderbird and i put gran turismos on it but it was a real job to do the throttle side. Has to grind the ridges off the tube and then getting the grip on was a biotch in several ways. If your is like that be prepared for en exercise in futility and fabrication. I love GT grips and glad i did it (some 10 or 12 years ago) but had i known what it would take i would have passed. Might wanna call triumph and as if the bike has a throttle tube like that.
