My niece is coming out in March from the UK so she will be bringing two of these. The cost for the two from her is still cheaper than what I can get one for my side.

They are available here for $79.00 - $80.00, but I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon

Well, you know me, dumb as a bag of hammers when it comes to these gadgets.
It's pretty cool alright, but I don't see me having a use for it.
I'm old fashioned and low tech

You get WiFi adapters that connect to some of these devices like lights but the TV it is a direct WiFi connection.

Hmmm, that's interesting.
My new flat screen TV is Wi-Fi compatible now that you mention it - and I do have Wi-Fi now.

NOPE wont have it ----Devils playground that thing is --- Pandoras Box in a "cute voice" ---invite the GOvt and anyone with a Hacker level 3 skill level into your home ......nope --- I have drawn the "technology line" at those things.
I also do NOT want a Refrigerator with "blue tooth" a cloths washer that can ORDER detergent FOR ME-- a phone "ap" that can lock and unlock my home and turn on and off lights and thermostats-----or any of the other new products millenials are all a RAVE about---- nope --- nada----no way---

HELL I just bought a truck (used of course) and part of the criteria was the newest (lowest miles) with the LEAST amount of "STUFF" possible --- ended up with a 2006 F150XL long bed.......crank windows no bluetooth---no computer data system---no navigation --- no thermostat telling me the outside temps or a compass in the mirror telling me my direction (I know my DAMN DIRECTION---and if I dont ---shoot me) ---no power door locks---no cruise control---no power NOTHING --- raw bare bones truck ---solid STEEL frame attached to HUGE METAL BUMPERS--- cold a/c and new tires --- done

Sorry Dave....not pooping on your cheerios --- just -- that little gadget aint my cup o tea.....scares the HELL outta me honestly --
