Hi. I ran across a 2014 Bonneville today, new old stock, for $5080. Seems to be a minimum of $2500 below the best I've seen for a new Bonneville. It's the plain Bonneville, is that ok to post here? (I ask because the title of the forum says "Bonneville T100, T120 and T120 Black. There should be a comma after "Bonneville" if it includes all Bonnevilles. But I can't find another forum for Bonnevilles, so...)

Anyway, I've put down a refundable deposit, and I'm going to check it out tomorrow. I can't imagine that I won't buy it, but I'm always looking for input from those who know more.

FWIW, I'm a returning rider who hasn't ridden since the early 90's. I really want a Street Triple, but this seems more sensible. And I think I could probably get my money back in a year if, by chance, I don't like it.

Thanks for any input.

:y151:andWELCOMEto the forum from across the pond. Glad that you've been able to return to biking after a short brake. I think that the new Bonneville is a great bike to get back into the swing of things, my mate has the Thruxton and absolutely loves it. I can't comment on the price you'll pay, as I'm the other side of the pond, but there will be others here that will be able to tell you if that's a good deal or not. My guess is that it's a good buy.
Enjoy it when you get it, and if you get time, please post some pictures of it, and maybe your up and coming travels too.

You posted in the correct section. It's for all the Bonneville models.
I too can't speak to the US prices, but it seems like a fair price to me.
The Bonneville doesn't have gobs of power, but they sure are fun to ride.
I think you're being wise to return with this model until you get back into the hobby and get your sea legs - so to speak.
Enjoy the bike for a year or so, and as you said, move up when you think the time is right.

Thanks guys for the input. It's Saturday morning, and I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about this bike. I think that's a sign that I'm pretty interested :)

Driving up in a few to check it out.

Thanks. I was a bit blindsided by this, actually. Looking for a completely different bike. I wanted a Street Triple, but was really closest to maybe buying a Kawasaki Versys. I test rode a Versys a couple of weeks ago. It was nice. The one I rode was a 2012 with 8k on it and was $5,000. I was also looking at a 2008 Versys for $3,800. With the brand new 2014 Bonne for $5080, well...

Yep, I'm buying it. I just got home from checking it out, an hour and 15 minutes away. No freaking brainer.

It still has the blue QC marks from the factory, haven't even washed it yet, and the ODO shows 0001. :)

Thanks. But that appears blank to me.

Just click on the camera icon .Then "Upload a File" then either select "Thumbnail" or "Full Image" & you're done.
