Iam in the market for a new gas barbie and I am not looking for the big ones with all the bells and whistles.I am looking at the Weber Q 300 .Has anyone got one or used one ?
We have two gas braai's one is like a big chef thingie with burners and the other is a table top
gas burner which we use for charka steaks etc.
Our friend has the webber and i am amazed at what he can cook up in it.
tasty vegetables wrapped in foil, succulent game fillets and even whole chickens
stuffed with a beer can.
Gas is far easier and so much quicker and much less mess to clean up. if I want to braai steak or boerewors for dinner I just flick
the lighter and im ready to cook. No battling to light charcol and waiting the fire to be ready.
I have already got a Jetmaster gas braai but when you need parts for it they always have excuses why they havent got stock.Thats why I am looking at Weber but only at the Q 300 one .
I have a Weber charcoal grill and love it. My neighbor has a pellet grill, man what a great item! It has a thermostat and there are many flavors of pellets available. If we ate more meat I'd get on but they are a bit pricey.
Harty - we also have a "Cob" - it's really portable, lightweight and EASY TO CLEAN. You have to use a 'cobble stone' not charcoal to cook. The 'stone' ignites immediately and you can start cooking within 10 mins of lighting the stone and the stone gives about 2hours cooking time. It's excellent. Ask LittleLoon and the GreekGod - they put us onto the Cob. Best little invention ever.
We've done an entire chicken flattie with rice and veggies all at the same time in about an hour or so. Steaks are great and you can do pizza on the Cob. Total cost with accessories is just under ZAR2000. We've got a gas grill too - I just hate cleaning the thing and the gas bottles are heavy to lug around. Have the small Weber Smokey Joe for camping and the place on the coast and the big Weber here at home. Still love the Cob the most.

Tarty The Q300 is absolutely brilliant. I have 4 and they really cook!!!! Its by far the best gas bbq I have ever owned, and believe me I've owned a lot!!
Nothing compares to this brute. Starts first push and idles like a dream... then when you open the taps.... does she burn!!
You could not do better. I suggest you get one NOW!!!!!

Silli you are a little .I hope one of the four burners kick you in the rear :y114:
We are quick around here! :y114: I had an older Weber and I liked it just fine. The salt air finally got to it. It was not worth moving when we moved form the coast two years ago.
