anyone here had anything to do with the garmin i3 mini satnav for bikes , ive just bought one but coz of the weather i cant try it.
got it off ebay secondhand but seems to be in very good conditon , greatfull for ant imfo anyone has .

I have never used the i3. I use a Nuvi 265W on my bike - the same GPS I use in my cage.

ye i usualy use my navman which is very good in cage and bike ,but the power socket on the tiger is the bmw small size and the satnav is the cigerete lighter size.
i bought a small socket conecter to convert the old one from big to small ,but i wouln't be able to use it in the car then ,so this garmen looked a good idea !

carl thanks for that ......ive been searching every where for one of those , but have never been able to find one ! i was beginnig to think they didn 't make them.

You are welcome. I added another link. I bought and adapter that is rigid, no cord. I also bought an adapter that splits into a BMW plug and cigarette lighter plug. That way I can charge my cell phone or use my electric gloves and use the GPS.

I bought a pigtail I run off the battery that I then connected to a cigarette lighter socket I run in my tank bag. I also have the adapter from the BMW plug to a large socket but I don't use it at this time.

Well my Garmin doesn't work so well. It gets stuck on the one voice instuction all the time. "When possible, make a U-turn". Bit irritating really.

Mine used to do that all the time too. My regular ride partners thought I had a Garmin that went stupid on me but they later found out I don't take directions very well. They got used to seeing odd routes to where ever we were headed. Now I just make sure I have my earplugs in so it doesn't bother me anymore.

i never ever have the volume on i allways turn it of ! ( i to have athority issues :y2: ) i just use the picture to find my way . bit like my book reading ....NOT! .....i just look at the pictures .....and get confused :y2:

I study a map before a trip and use the GPS mostly to find addresses and specific locations or to find a detour. I am gifted with a great sense of direction. I have loaded topography maps into my GPS for off pavement riding. That works well.

carl thats exactly what i use mine for , i to study a map before i go and memorise it .
but gps is good to find the address .
i used the garmin today brilliant little thing ! im really pleased with it .:y2:
