Flash Floods

I have never seen anything like these happen in real life but have seen small rivers slowly become large flooded rivers. This type of scenario must be a bit scary if you do experience it

That's crazy! We don't have anything like that around here, but there have been some torrents in other parts of Canada that have swept away buildings. This happened in Quebec many years ago if I recall correctly.
Rivers around here can sometimes overflow and there is some flooding, but we don't have any hills or mountains that can result in mud slides or river torrents.
Up in New Brunswick where Qship lives, the mighty St. John river floods every spring and usually causes a lot of flood damage.

We do get flooding this side and the one time the spring tide was so bad it overtook the lower part of our industrial area.

The water ended up flowing two blocks into this area at the height of it all.

The tail ends of hurricanes stir up the ocean and sometimes causes coastal damage here - even if they're well offshore.
