First ride of 2009!!!

I just got back from my first ride of 2009 and the first ride since 5 July 2008.
The temperature went up into the 12-13C range (mid 50's F) and was sunny so I took the opportunity to ride the 1970 Triumph for it's annual vehicle inspection. What a hoot it is to ride those old bikes :y115:
The inspection station for vintage bikes is 25 km (15 miles) away and it was a nice ride there and back.
My shoulder and hand performed beautifully and I didn't even think about being injured. It was as if nothing had happened.
One by one the other bikes will be coming out of hibernation :ya2:

Dave, and everyone, it was a huge thrill to be out on the road again :y42:
I had put it out of my mind for nine months and couldn't believe how much I really missed it. And being able to ride and not feel any effects from my injuries was an even bigger thrill!
The old T100 is such a sweet bike to ride and the "music" from the pipes makes me feel like I'm 20 again :y42:
The Bonnie will come out next and then the H**** - after I replace the seven year old battery that died over the winter :ya2:

Thanks Carl and everyone. All that hard work I put into the physio program and weight training has really paid off - as I knew it would. I would never be satisfied to be handicapped in any way if I could do anything to prevent it.
I only rode 30 miles yesterday, but it was all perfectly natural and I didn't have to make any physical adjustments whatever.
It's wonderful being fit again and leading a normal life.
But I'm glad a large part of my down time was over the winter when I couldn't ride anyway. That made it easier to handle.
And now it's spring and I'm riding again. Yeehaawwww!!!!
