Acquired a 1998 Triumph Thunderbird 900 back in April, didn't know much about the bike, and it was apart when I bought it. I've put a few hundred into getting her back up and running, but still haven't been able to ride. I recently got her to crank and fire, but she's running like she sat for 2 years (which she did). Prior to this bike, my grandfather had many BMW's, but when he had a stroke a few years back, my Aunt's sold the bikes without checking with anyone in the family. I know he had an old BMW with a sidecar, and I really wish I had been able to get that one, but alas. Anyhow, I'm really excited to get this beauty up and rolling, I'll get some pics taken once I have her back on the street.

:five: Welcome, Triblade, from the San Francisco Bay area. I know that BMW and sidecar package would have been nice. But I'm sure you'll feel good about getting the T-Bird on the road, and enjoy riding her.

Thank you gentlemen. My wife's family hails from SE of Dallas about 60 miles, my grandfather rode Sturgis and all kinds of rallies. He had his stroke on the way home from Sturgis in fact. The pick-up coil had fallen off, just epoxied it back on two days ago, but the bike is in my buddy's shop and I haven't had a chance to get her back together since. Then I just have to tune the carbs with the new primary jets I stalled. Anyone know a spot I can pick up the straps for the saddlebags? I'm missing a couple, my interim solution is zip-ties.
