I never did get the idea of what Facebook was actually about and I have had an account for some time now. Anyway I started playing a bit with it this last weekend and am actually quite amazed with it all. I have made contact with some very good old friends that I have not seen in many years. Some are now located outside of SA. It is really cool to catchup on what they have been doing all these years.

Most of my family are on facebook. I can't be bothered to tell you the truth. It's like I always tell them - there's a reason why I lost contact with people. If I wanted to talk to them I wouldn't stayed in contact. lol

Just remember whatever you put on facebook, pics, info etc, does not belong to you - it belongs to the admins and they can do with it what they wish.

My highschool graduation class has it's own website with a message board, chatroom, mailing list, and photo album. We just had our reunion last summer.

There are some I like seeing and then some I would love to forget.

The same goes for any media type site where you add content, forums, blogs you name it. Unless you own the site that is :ya2: :ya2:

Yeah it is quite something I must admit I never got it until this weekend. I also like going to our old schools page and reading up how the sports teams are doing and checking out the latest pics :y115:

Guess it's a case of "YouTube Myspace and I'll Google your Yahoo" then?? :ya2:

Yep, I finall scummed to signing up but don't go in for "I think I'll wash the bike today" kinda posts :silent:

I am a member of military.com which has a membership listing. I have found some old Army buddies through it. I simply found their names and emailed them through the website. And some found me. Like AJ, I have kept in touch with most of the folks I wished to keep in touch with over the years.

I think for us in SA so many people leave the country it was hard to keep up with them at the time

For us in Australia, we are getting some of your best people.
For you, the wrong people are leaving.
I have two, unrelated, sets of SA friends, both professional and cashed up.

Carl the way things are now it is very unusual to find a family here that does not have direct family that is now living in another country  :silent: It is basically a fact of life here that you have a good chance of one of your children ending up in a foreign country
